Team MadScientists owes its name to its former navigator, the late Paul Mitchell, who named the team when the current navigator obtained his second PhD.

The team evolved over the years from the original Team Old Mutual's World of Endurance to its current core members - Heather and Michael. The Mad Scientists are no longer racing as the original team considering that the members of this team are scattered across the globe. 

The Mad Scientists have been sponsored by Biophys in various guises since 2004 and since 2008 by Biophys Ltd (UK).

Our current focus is running and mountaineering with a bit of paddling on the side. Our FIrst Adventure Race since 2006 is planned for 2012.
