Team MadScientists owes its name to its former captain and navigator, the late Paul Mitchell, who named the team after the current navigator obtained his second PhD.

The team has evolved over the years from the original Team Old Mutual's World of Endurance to its current core members - Heather and Michael and new-comer Jamie. The Mad Scientists are no longer racing as the original team considering that this team is scattered across the globe. 

Our current focus is running and mountaineering with a bit of paddling on the side. No adventure racing is on the horizon at the moment.
